Awa: 17, The Aftertaste!

Has it really been a year?  Have I really fallen that far behind?  Do I expect my posting rate to not improve at all?

The answer to all of these questions are YES!  Yes I am trying to use this internet thing to let you know about a convention thing.  This past weekend was a 'little' con known as Anime Weekend Atlanta.

Did I say little?  ... I meant big, my bad.
Though this AWA was one of my most limited in terms of time and photography, I still have plenty to talk say about it.

AWA XVI Day 1: Sweet Sweet Sixteen

Here I sit, hoping the majority of you have recovered from your weekend.  If you ask me 'what weekend' I'll slap you.  Anime Weekend Atlanta celebrated it's 'Sweet Sixteen', and how sweet it was.  I have to admit, not only was it sweet, but it was BUSY.  So busy that I hope you forgive me for letting this AWA review week start a little into the week.

AWA Day 0: Every day is a day to do a good deed.

Ok, while technically not part of the convention's festivities, the Thursday of Anime Weekend Atlanta's erm... weekend is dedicated to waiting in a long line and picking up your badge and bag of goodies. The AWA staff does this due to one major problem, one I shall explain through a complex series of visual aids known as photographs.

Building a House

For this one your going to need a little backstory. When I went to college, I originally was into Architecture (or Archi-torture if you will), and lasted over a year in the program.  I eventually dropped out, but over that year I spent a good deal of money on things architect students use on a regular basis.  Things like Exacto-Knifes, Foam-board and Chip-board, as well as a good bit of sketch paper, drawing paper, and what-not.

One year wasn't nearly enough to dwindle any of my supplies, so as I packed up, I had two great big bags of model-materials stashed away in the garage for years.  Some things translate easy to general arts, so the pens, pencils, coloring supplies I still use and sit in my over-sized Godot mug.  The other, much larger materials sat and sat and sat.

Until one day, I decided to build a house- no, a CHURCH! yes yes folk, think back, long long ago when you actually watched or read Trigun, Nicholas D. Wolfwood had more tools in his arsenal than just the (Cross)-Punisher,  pair of nickel plated handguns, and motorcycle with passenger pod.  No he also has the infamous Portable Confessional! How do you make money as a wandering priest?! You charge pocket-change to wear a church-shaped box and confess to the only priest around!
